Student Screening

First-Time Student Screening

In accordance with Ohio Revised Code (ORC 3313.673), all students enrolled for the first time must be screened by November 1 for vision, hearing, speech and communication, medical concerns, and developmental disorders. These screenings are not intended to diagnose educational disabilities or determine placement, but rather to identify potential learning needs that may require additional assessment. Results can help guide early intervention, prevention, or enrichment opportunities for students.

At Northeast Ohio Classical Academy, all students in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade will participate in an annual vision and hearing screening conducted by a certified nurse. Parents will be notified in advance of these screenings. If results indicate a concern, parents will receive a referral report along with follow-up communication (via phone call or meeting) to help interpret the results. At that point, parents are responsible for arranging further evaluation with the appropriate healthcare provider.

Hearing and Vision Testing took place on Monday, September 8th, and Tuesday, September 9th, 2025.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to opt your child out of these screenings, please contact the school office at info@NEOCAcademy.org, or by calling 330-331-4352.
